ATAG is working with governments and stakeholders worldwide to press for
right decisions to be taken to address air transport's infrastructure and
capacity problems - whilst balancing the needs of consumers, the economy,
society and the environment.
In 2005 and 2006, ATAG has focused its efforts on the
environment and organised two Aviation & Environment
Summits (see www.environment.aero). This industry-led event,
co-organised by ATAG, with Airports Council International (ACI),
the International Air Transport Association ( IATA), the Civil Air
Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) and the International Coordinating
Council of Aerospace Industries Associations (ICCAIA), brings together
airlines, airports, manufacturers, air navigation services providers, and other
industry players to address environmental issues of common concern with the aim
to identify and communicate joint industry messages/data to sustain air
transport's development and secure its future growth.
This Summit is the only international, high level aviation and environmental
event of its kind, and was set up to ensure that all industry players are able
to meet on a regular basis to discuss and address environmental issues and
challenges and, where possible, seek coordinated solutions.
