Industry collaboration

ATAG has had tremendous success in bringing together industry players from the commercial aviation industry, especially with respect to addressing the industry’s response to reducing aviation emissions.

This is largely due to the active engagement of its high-level Board who, along with a small secretariat staff, have the strategic best interests of the aviation industry front-of-mind, rather than acting individually on behalf of one company or sector. Importantly, at a number of key UN International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) meetings, ATAG has presented on behalf of the whole industry delivering a powerful message to the world’s governments about aviation’s joint commitment on environment.

Since 2005, ATAG has also organised the Aviation & Environment Summit, which brings together airlines, airports, manufacturers, air navigation services providers and other industry players to address environmental issues of common concern. This industry-led event is coorganised with Airports Council International (ACI), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) and the International Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries Associations (ICCAIA). The Summit is the only global, high level aviation and environmental event of its kind, and was set up to ensure that all industry players are able to meet on a regular basis to discuss and address environmental issues and challenges and, where possible, seek coordinated solutions.
