ATAG Path to Net Zero briefings

ATAG began hosting Path to Net Zero briefings at the beginning of 2023. The purpose is to bring representatives from across the industry together in a virtual format, to set the course for how industry aims to reach the net-zero carbon by 2050 goal and discuss other sustainability-related subjects of interest. 10 briefings have been held so far, covering the following subjects:

  • the UNFCCC and COP28 preparations
  • ICAO CAAF/3 preparations
  • sustainable aviation fuels
  • EU Green Taxonomy
  • ILO technical meeting on aviation
  • electrified aircraft
  • Loss and Damage Fund and an aviation levy
  • IMO climate discussions
  • direct air capture technologies for net-zero aviation
  • non-CO2 aviation emissions and contrails.

The briefings are held approximately every 6 weeks and often feature subject matter experts. Participation is exclusively for aviation industry employees. All ATAG members are welcome to join. If you wish to sign up for notifications about the briefings, please register here. PowerPoint presentations from previous Path to Net Zero briefings are available on the ATAG private website.

If you have suggestions for topics that you think could be covered during the calls, please contact Anna Patient.
